Crisis: Nusantara Capital
Advanced Committee
In Model United Nations, a Crisis Committee is a fast-paced, dynamic type of committee where delegates must respond to evolving, often unpredictable situations in real time. Unlike traditional General Assembly style committees, which follow a more structured debate format, crisis committees simulate high-pressure environments like war rooms, political cabinets, or international crisis teams.
One of the defining features of a crisis committee is the introduction of real-time events, known as crisis updates. These developments can include anything from assassinations and military actions to political scandals or economic collapses, depending on the scenario. Delegates must react quickly and strategically to these events to influence the direction of the committee.

About
Nusantara, Indonesia’s planned new capital city in East Kalimantan on the island of Borneo, represents a bold effort to address the mounting challenges faced by Jakarta, including overpopulation, deforestation, flooding, and rising sea levels. Envisioned as a "Global City for All," Nusantara is intended to embody Indonesia’s future—integrating cultural diversity, promoting economic decentralization from Java, and reflecting inclusive, sustainable urban development. The Nusantara Capital Authority views this move as a transformative step toward building a new civilization rooted in innovation and collaboration. However, despite its ambitious goals, the success of Nusantara remains uncertain, as it faces the same risks that have doomed other large-scale capital relocation projects worldwide.
